Olla water jar. Brown on cream slip with terra cotta base. Circular designs with crosses. Concave base. Interior looks varnished. Good [condition] -- rim chip; black 3" on bottom, marker. Red and white sticker on bottom -- From the Museum catalog.

Reformer, theologian. While a faculty member at Lane Theological Seminary, he supported the student "rebels" involved with the abolitionist revolt and was subsequently dismissed on October 4, 1834.
